the conflict is not between TMP and AdblockPlus
there is conflict with Ubuntu Firefox Modifications

In Ubuntu Firefox Modifications extension in file alternatePlugins.js there is call to gBrowser before the "load" event
gBrowser = document.getElementById("content");

New Tabs getting focus

with ths setting all new tab will open at the end without getting focus

Tried that (one of the first things I did try), Although the new page doesn't pop-up, the current one stays on screen, the rows jumps to the newly opened tab, so still stuck with the same problem.

I believe you. Try disabling them all and then enable a few at a time to see which one conflicts. Also, check to see if your history wasn't accidentaly reset to 0, just in case.

I am using TMP just fine with the nightly dated 11/04/2008.

However before going back I noticed some additional strangeness with the latest nightly as of yesterday 11/18/2008. I had TMP Session Manager turned off, but the menu would show up in the Tools menu. Once I went to TMP Settings and changed one option and applied it the tabs would display as expected (with the TMP Session Manger menu item gone from the Tools menu after this), then I would reset and apply again to get temporary use. Maybe it's more an issue between Session Manager extension and TMP.

I'm trying to migrate myself out of using an antique Mozilla Suite system and the main thing I keep returning for is the keyboard shortcuts I have there using Tabbrowser Extension.

With TBE I can hit Alt+L and get a popup menu to go directly to a saved tab session by number, or delete, rename or edit sessions and other useful quick stuff. In contrast with TMP where I have to Alt+T, then S, then arrow, and only then can I select the saved session.

So my request is to get a keyboard shortcut directly into the Session Manager menu. I have tried using the keyconfig extension to do this but come up short.

Crashed Sessions

Consider the following sequence of events:

1) Firefox crashes. For the sake of argument, let's assume the crash was caused by my trying to run too many programs at once on an old, underpowered computer, and not by any malicious or malformed Web site code; further, let's call the state Firefox was in at the time of the crash StateA.

2) I restart the computer, and then restart Firefox. TMP's Session Manager kicks in and lets me restore Firefox to StateA.

3) I resume surfing, but several hours later I again forget the shortcomings of the machine I'm on, and again cause Firefox to crash. Call this StateB.

4) I restart again, TMP offers to restore again, and I accept the offer.

Expected result: Firefox gets restored to StateB.

Observed result: Firefox gets restored to StateA - again.

Workaround: Delete TMP's Crashed Session immediately after restoring to StateA, to force TMP to start collecting new session info for if/when CrashB occurs.

I got the same issue as described in this thread. Disabling of "Ubuntu firefox modifications 0.6" helped me!

"Save This Window" is very useful in right click of a session name, but it's not enough. For easy adding current tab into a saved session, "Save This Tab" would be helpful to append the current tab into a saved session. Thx!
