Tab Mix Plus

The undo closed tabs list is completely inoperable.
Win7 x64/TMP 0.3.8.7/FF 8.0 32-bit

In options - if I go Menu -> Tab Context Menu/Main Context Menu - both "Undo close Tab" and "Closed Tabs List" are blanked out. Creating a new profile lets it work, however, I've disabled every plugin and extension and theme and I still have this issue. I believe that this is the relevant error.

Thankyou. It's very odd, as I've been using this for months and for it to suddenly turn itself of?? I certainly didn't do it.

I have a different variation on this problem. Darn near every time I update Firefox I lose my closed tabs list in the process!
I've checked, and save closed tabs in TMP options (Events/tab features) IS still enabled.
I have wayy-too-much experience retrieving one of the recent sessions from the sessionbackups folder, renaming it session.rdf and then placing it in my main profile folder to restore the list as it was from a recent session. But that isn't working this time. The closed tabs list is showing some recent pages that I've visited, but they are NOT the same pages that were in my closed tabs list before the update.
I opened one of the session backup files that I'd already tried this with and did a keyword search for the url of one of those "missing" closed tabs. The urls from my REAL closed tabs list seem to still be present in the session backup .rdf file, but yet NOT showing in my list when I set that file as THE session.rdf and reopen bloody firefox. I tried with two diff. recent sessions, same result.
WHY does FF screw up my closed tabs list every time I (mistakenly??) allow it to update, and how can I get my REAL closed tabs back...??
I've saving a couple of those recent session files so I'll have them handy.
OS is Vista Home Premium, FF is v13, TMP is 0.4.0.2...
Please help!!

did you set Tabmix session manager to load your last session or other ?

The session manager is set to "ask before restoring." But I always do restore, normally to the most recent session. Those closed tabs would have been part of any of my recent sessions.

One other weird thing though; Even when I'd taken a session backup from one or two days ago and placed it as THE active session.rdf file, I was being offered a crashed session from early this AM as the most recent restore option.
If I've swapped a session file from 2 days ago into place as the active one before reopening, how is it that I'm being offered a MORE recent than that session anyways...?

when you use backup session file make sure
1. the you take backup from your current profile, look at about:support how to open the profile folder
2. close Firefox completely before you replace session.rdf

test how new profile work with Tabmix

I will try again, but I have only one FF profile on this computer, and I'm pretty sure that I did close FF before replacing the session.rdf file... I will try again, of course.
On my prev. attempts, the active tabs restored just fine, it's only the bloody closed tabs list (my REAL closed tabs list) that is playing hard to get.
Is there some other "crash-saving" file that might be polluting the process by introducing that more recent session?
I went to the page you specified, and from thence to the FF support forums, but wind up with a vast array of search results. Is there something more specific I should look at?

I've got them back. It seems even after en-placing the session file from a couple days ago I had to select a saved session from way back on June 8th in order for the correct closed tabs list to appear. I would SWEAR that the correct list was still in place when more recent sessions were closed on the 15th & 17th, but selecting those sessions didn't bring the list back, while selecting the older session did.
If/when I've downloaded an update, would it be safer to close and reopen FF the normal way rather than using the restart button in the update dialog? Would that reduce the odds of having to fight this battle every time I have to update FF?
I see in the TMP tutorials a separate session manager add-on that works well with TMP in place of TMP's native session manager. Is this something you would recommend using, would it reduce the chances of losing info. during updates?

Are you using TMP sm or Fx sm?
I use Session Manager for years and have nor ever had any problems.
There's one thing to keep in mind though. When you install SM, your sessions will be converted to SM but, apparently, if you will decide to go back using TMP, sessions saved with SM will not be saved/transferred, if i understand it correctly.

Thank you for that feedback. I've been using the TMP session manager pretty much ever since I installed TMP on a prev. computer. I cannot imagine using FF without TMP!
The session manager add-on sounds like a good one then, even with the caution about reverting...
I went through a similar battle very recently after I'd had probs with video not loading. I've since linked that to the Real Player record plug-in being troublesome after flash was updated and disabled the RP plug-in. But in the mean-time I'd tried allowing FF to check the up-to-date status of my plug-ins, and after updating the java suite, all of a sudden TMP settings didn't seem to be applying normally at all. Not only had the closed tabs list been zapped, but on opening FF it was ignoring my TMP settings and just opening to my homepage. (On that occasion I wound up doing a full-fledged system restore, as well as the session file swap-out.)
It's got to where I'd very leery about allowing ANYTHING to update...!

Before you install SM, try the Fx sm option in TMP and see what happens.
But, as i said, i never had any problems with SM ext., great support, loaded, etc.
