The FF7 update from yesterday broke the "reload every X minutes/seconds" feature. It worked during a previous devbuild, then it stopped working (probably because of an update), worked again when the new devbuild came out, now broken again.

Reload every min/sec works fine for me on nightly.

I downloaded the FF7 beta update yesterday (the 10th). I checked my add-ons and none of them were updated more recently than the 6th and TMP was updated on the 9th. I restarted Firefox and it still doesn't work. I wonder what's causing it.

Yes, it is clear what that metrics measure startup performance for the most part, but still it is important.
And though TMP is powerful extension, not less powerful Firebug is at 11 place (well, as I heart on some moz. forum) so it would be super nice to make TMP faster =)

Well, I just switched my theme from RedShift 5.0 (officially incompatible with FF7) to Default and the timed reload worked again. I tested other themes, including one that's really broken that doesn't have a button for tab groups and it still worked. I switched back to RedShift and it's working again. It's some kind of weird fluke, but I guess I know how to fix it again?

To be more specific, what happens is that the little clock on tabs I already set to auto-reload doesn't appear. I activate it by right-clicking on the page, and then I go to the Reload Every > menu that's on there. When I have the problem, it says Reload Every > in the right click menu, but the menu doesn't pop up when I mouse over it. It's very strange.

I still get blank tabs for downloads. Has been for a long while now, at least 2 dev.versions back. I posted a few times along with my settings file. Clean profile, 'dirty' profile with all exts. disabled - i get blank tabs for all types, .xpi included.

just tested latest dev-build with your settings
this link for example http://www.mrtech.com/extensions/toolkit.xpi
start downloads without opening new tab

Same here with nightly 9.0a1 and TMP 0.3.8.7 110909a - no tab just an instant download and installation

ON edit:
I get a new tab for a PDF file as I have it set to use Adobe Viewer (default) outside the browser. I also get a blank tab for makondo's .txt file above but not the .xpi file posted by onemen.

I didn't get a blank for that ^ link and don't do much of .xpi downloads but next time i'll see it, i'll post a link.
Try any download link on this page: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

Thanks for testing, Bruce!

makondo,
You're welcome.
I do get a new blank tab from the Firefox all-beta download page. But there is something different as the URL does not contain the .exe which is what I believe TMP exceptions looks for.

This is the URL for the download itself.
http://download.mozilla.org/?product=fi ... lang=en-US

On edit:
I just solved mine. I added this to the exception list:

/?product

Now it doesnt open a new tab...just downloads in the same tab.

makondo,

in order to prevent blank tab Tabmix look the file type list in your settings for a match in the location string
"http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-7.0b5&os=win&lang=en-US"

as you can see mozilla.org location string does not include the actual file name Firefox Setup 7.0b5.exe
the only way to block blank tabs from this kind of links is to add to TMP file type list part of the string as regular expression (RegExp)
for example
/?product/ - prevent blank tab from all link that include ?product
you can be more specific to mozilla.org site and add
/download.mozilla.org/\?product/

Thanks, i get blank tabs every time i download any thing. I get them for xpi even though xpi IS in my list, etc. It's not used to do this and that's why i wonder what and when happened. I guess i'll never know and will end up just adding sites to my list?! Forget it, i'll have to live with blanks ... til i get mad again Image

PS. At this point, i added txt, ico, png, ... to my list even though i'm pretty sure i had those in before but i didn't find them in my list, odd. Thanks everyone, appreciate you taking time to help!

Okay, it doesn't seem to be specific to any one theme. It happened on LavaFox Blue as well as RedShift and even the default theme. I switched to regular LavaFox and it seems to be working again. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with themes, but switching themes until it works again seems to be a way to fix it.

I also noticed something new. When I mouse over Reload Every > in the menu, a little nub shows up. Here it is, circled in red.

Image

It is just a nub and none of the menu entries are navigable, not with the mouse or the arrow keys.

Has to be a theme. That little dot is your menu. Happens when there's a conflict. If it happens with the default theme, than it's an ext. conflict. Try a clean profile (troubleshooting tips linked in my signature).
There's a sticky for display issues, please, post display issues there. Thanks!

look in our Troubleshooting how to enable the error console
show the popup menu with this nub
look in the error console and report about any messages you see in it

I haven't had time to create a blank profile and install each extension one at a time, but let me know if that is necessary and I'll get back to you with my findings.

I get this error in pairs, probably because TMP is normally set to reload two of my tabs every 15 minutes:

Tabmix.autoReload is undefined
chrome://browser/content/browser.xul - Line 1
Line 1: <?xml version="1.0"?>

There's also this one:

aMenuitem is null
chrome://tabmixplus/content/click/click.js - Line 1011
Line 1011: aMenuitem.setAttribute("label", aMenuitem.getAttribute("count") + aTab.label);

I'm pretty sure it's not a display issue because I would be able to navigate the menu blindly with the arrow keys. Pressing right and then the down arrow just makes it go to the next item and not into the submenu that I want.

TigerNightmare

the error you have are symptoms of incompatibility between Tabmix and one or more of your other extensions.
when you find time for it, create new profile and load your extensions one at a time
