Ah, just noticed that there were updates. I have a few questions. Couldn't the old drag tab to bookmark sidebar (without ctrl) behaviour be restored?
Also what about the new animated drag and drop is that purposely disabled?

Oh, so you have to reimplement it yourself... That sucks...
What about the tab dragging to bookmarks? Is that impossible to be made like it was?

This is the second time that this has arised in the past 24 hours ever since I updated to the new version of TMP.

It has something to do with the utils.js script that is within TMP and it keeps coming up as un-responsive. I will make sure if it arises again, I will take a screenshot, the page and the amount of tabs being run.

FF Version: 6.0.2
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Does this mean TMP will not have the tab-dragging-to-bookmarks ever? I think this is a very handy feature and a crucial one at that... and it will not make TMP 'Firefox retro'. It is definitely in my no.1 wishlist.

You do know you only need double-click on the star in the address bar, don't you, to bookmark a tab?

in Firefox 8.0+ you can use Ctrl+Drag to bookmarks button or bookmarks toolbar or Bookmarks sidebar.

Thanks. I knew there was a change, but could not remember the specifics. With this change in the browser, users are less likely to create bookmarks when their intent was something else.

I'm using Nightly 9.0a1 and Ctrl+Drag doesn't work.. or is it colliding with the Multiple Tab Handler addon, which uses Ctrl+click on tabs to select multiple tabs??

I tried disabling Multiple Tab Handler addon and the CTRL+DRAG works. I guess it did conflict with that add-on.

[My spec: Firefox Nightly 9.0a1, TMP 0.3.8.7pre.110917a, Win XP]

This may be a "feature" and not a bug (or it might not be related to TMP at all), but say I have 2 Tab Groups, Group 1 and Group 2

-Webpage A is open in Group 2 and I'm actively viewing Group 1.
-When I type the address for Webpage A, the awesome bar says "Switch to tab" because Webpage A is already open.

If you do this, Webpage A pops up in Group 1 (when it's supposed to be in Group 2). When you click off Webpage A, it disappears again.

IMO when you switch to Webpage A you should be switched to Group 2 and then Webpage A should become active (or at least it should be an option to do this instead of spawning a temporary tab copy).

(FF 9 nightly, this behavior does NOT happen on a clean profile (ie stock FF switches to Group 2 then Webpage A), but I have no other addons which deal with tabs.)

This works fine for me with Firefox 9.0a1 (2011-09-22) and TMP 0.3.8.7pre.110917a but I don't use awesomebar.

...so one of your addons that don't deal with tabs probably causing the problem

Starting with today's Nightly nightly (C-set: 6c780dcb4b99) (available here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2011-10-08-03-09-46-mozilla-central/) and installing only the most recent dev version of TMP with default settings plus set to open a new tab from the address bar, entering an address into the address bar opens the page in the current tab instead of a new tab. No errors in console either.

TMP Options > Events > Tab Opening > Open tabs from: > Address Bar (checked, not checked by default)

I also confirmed URLs not loaded in new tab when selecting "Paste and Go" from the Urlbar. When having the above TMP option checked.

when used

gBrowser.selectedTab = gBrowser.addTab(url);

TMP chooses to ignore the url

Could that be fixed?
