You're right Ray, there was a big problem with Menu Editor a while back conflicting with other extensions. However, since then I've been bumping it and it's working fine in Firefox, Namoroka & Minefield.

Nice tip about Personal Menu. I'll go check it out.

I did try PM but can't recall now ... i think it's either missing context menus customization or something like that. Maybe i just couldn't figure how to set it? I don't recall but i know i went back to ME and really have no problems. I only have 37 exts. (3 of which are -java console?!...11, 13, 15 WTF?!?!) and 90% of them are the same exts. i've been using for years. I guess, they're used to each other by now Image

mak,

The "extra" java consoles are left over from older versions of java. They are located in the extensions folder of the browser installation folder. The latest should be {CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0018-ABCDEFFEDCBA}. Older ones should be OK to delete.

The good news is that for at least the past several java releases, their installer takes care of--deletes--older versions of the console unlike older releases.

mak,

I have noticed that the 4th group of numbers & digits in the folder name shows the Update number--18 in my case.

I keep apprised of java releases by subscribing to the RSS feed available at http://blogs.sun.com/SDNProgramNews/ent ... update_184

mak,

You have Update 18 installed, but, if I understand you correctly, because you used java's updater, it must do like a partial browser update does and apply only the changes from one version to the next. If there were no changes in browser java console, then no changes were applied.

What you posted shows that java console dates back to Update 15.

I follow the link in the article of the RSS feed I posted earlier and then download the full OFFLINE installation file. The installer in it is what I was referring to with regard to uninstalling or otherwise removing old java installations and their remnants.

It is up to you if you want to grab the full install file and do a nice clean install. 8)

Is there any way to have this little button at the right side as the Undo Closed Tabs Button add-on does? Tab Mix conflicts with it and I'm quite addicted to that button. :?

I have looked but I can't find a way to "unclose" a tab other than using the right click and the menu (yeah, I am too lazy to use crtl+shift+t too. xD).

Ctrl+F12 will reopen the previously closed tab. Repeating Ctrl+F12 will reopen previously closed tabs in the reverse order in which they were closed until the Closed Tabs list is empty.

Or you can use the toolbar bar Undo Close tabs button - just drag it out of the Customize toolbar window and put it ... to the far right side of your toolbar ;-) This way you can set how many tabs to show and undo any tab instead of the each one in order they were closed.

Any chance we can get a new icon for "Undo Closed Tabs" so it is less unobtrusive and blends in with the different variety of themes/icons people may be using?

Right now I have the Undo Closed Tab icon on the Navigation Toolbar next to the "Stop" icon and quite frankly the green icon does not match the style/color of the other icons next to it.

Maybe just use a symbol like the Undo button used in Microsoft Word would go well with most themes.

Here we go. You can change the image to any image stored on your puter.

I find Ctrl+Shift+T a lot easier to use. I didn't know / remember about Ctrl+F12.

I find using the tab context menu item good when I am not sure if the closed tab I am looking for is not the most recent one I closed. Otherwise, Ctrl+F12 is the keyboard shortcut I remember the best.

failed downloading still fails here in some conditions.
Open a new window and type an ftp address to a file and press enter. It'll propose the save menu and if you choose save file it vanishes.
Errors in log:

Please note that it still closes the tab just after one presses "save file as"...

It seems I found the same problem. It's easy to repeat:
1. Open http://www.offensive-security.com/blog/ ... -easy-way/
2. Then middle click on bt4-customise.sh link. Download should start in new tab.
3. But when You try to save it, nothing happening.
Quote:
Error: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIHelperAppLauncher.saveToDisk]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsHelperAppDlg.js :: anonymous :: line 532" data: no]
Source File: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsHelperAppDlg.js
Line: 532

Pay attention to middle click (or Control click). It's important.
Tested on fresh clean profile.

Whether I left-click, middle-click or Ctrl+click it all does the same thing just as it should. It opens a new tab in the background momentarily, prompts to save the file and new tab closes.
