 Post subject: Tabbar Arrows missing
PostPosted: Tue Feb 22, 2011 9:18 pm
Hi all,

the arrows at the left and right edge of the tab bar disappeared (these which should appear if you have many tabs open). The TMP settings are set correctly and should show them. Using the default theme, you just see a 1-pix horizontal line instead which is white on dark background. If I disable the arrows in the TMP setting these lines disappear.
I'm using Firefox 4 Beta 12, Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and TMP "test-build-2011-02-03.xpi" (same error in Dev-Build 0.3.8.5pre.110217a).

Best wishes,
Chris

P.S.: In Dev-Build 0.3.8.5pre.110217a the pinned-tabs overlay the toolbar which is unpleasant.

This happens on 32 bit and 64 bit Minefeild.

I have a related question...when I remove the Menu Bar and go with the Firefox "drop button" as in the graphic above, all of my tabs are compressed between the drop button and and equal area to the right of the screen. In other words, instead of the tabs running from the leftmost part of the screen to the rightmost, there is a blank column (as wide as the drop button) on the left and an equally wide blank column on the right side.

Operator error?

do you see the same on clean profile with Tabmix?
platform?
theme?
post your Tabmix settings?
post a screenshot

Followup to this...I started running Minefield-- 4.0b13pre at the moment-- and this display issue does not exist any longer. Tabs are properly represented from one side of the screen to the other.

Using archlinux x86_64, firefox 4.0b12 candidate build1, and equivalent (ie of roughly the same date) TMP tab_mix_plus-0.3.8.5pre.110221a.xpi.

Buttons for scrolling - when tabs become too many - no longer appear at the far two (right and left) edges of the tab-bar.

Up until b11 everything was fine.

Theme is the default one.

I will attach a shot, in a few minutes.

PS: Attachment added.

PS2: I see now that is the exact same bug ChrisM posted, at the top of the page.

I don't see a problem with the overflow arrows, but I am seeing the issue with pinned (App) tabs being taller relative to the rest of the Tab Bar height.

This is on Minefield (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b13pre) Gecko/20110224 Firefox/4.0b13pre ID:20110224030358, C-set: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/881f4ab63c31) and Tab Mix Plus 0.3.8.5pre.110221a.

One more thing:

I also tried it again, after I reset TMP settings to the defaults.

The same behavior.

Hey onemen,

the arrow-bug is still present in version 110221a. Maybe it has something to do with linux? Cause wantilles gets the same bug.
In addition, now i also get the pin-tab-bug in the latest version. In version 110217a the pinned tabs are okay.
Sorry, but what or where is the omni.jar-File? I googled for it, but i didn't get smarter by this.

I forgot to to thank you for this great addon and the good work you put in it :-)

Chris

omni.jar is a file on your computer. In Windows, it is in the main program installation folder along with firefox.exe. I would look for it in the equivalent folder in Linux.

A maybe stupid question:

Does it contain any privacy-related information?

These are supposed to be present only in the profile directory.

Is anyone else experiencing this same problem, and if so does anyone know how to fix it?

Cheers

On dev build 0.3.8.5pre. 110221a, with the tab bar set to multi-row, sometimes, when closing tabs, TMP fails to hide a particular empty row.

Firefox version - 4.0b12
Platform - Experienced both on XP sp3, and win7
Windows' themes Concave and Concave 7, with ff's default theme.

Possibly relevent userChrome entries:
Code:
#appmenu-button-container{
   display: none !important;
}

#tabbrowser-tabs {
   margin-left:      -4px !important;
   margin-right:       -70px !important;
}
