there is already a link in the about dialog (FAQ needs to be removed from there but thats another subject)

i'm not sure how many people go there so it seems like a good idea to have it on the options.

perhaps a small button next to settings? for some reason the image of a blue circle with a white question mark came to my head

EDIT: now i remember, it was the blue one before we used the book. These two icons seem like good ones to start with

you seem to be talking about the home page. But i was talking about a link here. That little red book was looking good here. Notice how there's no way to get to the the guide from forum (or to the home page, for that matter). I would expect the logo to be a link to the home page. And that little red book would look good right under the 'PM' button, in the middle.
BTW, what 'about dialog' are you talking about? or FAQ? Are we looking at different pages?

no, i was refering to the about dialog( the one that comes up if you right click on TMP in the addons window and select About Tab Mix Plus)

i was also talking about adding a button to the options dialog to open the help file

the book icon can go anywhere else but i dont think it looks good between the other but can change it. ill try to add links to the help file to the forum and homepage

the button on the to is not enough its be better with a label like User Guide

I agree that we need a label but if we add text it wont be part of the image. the other buttons are part of the forum theme. i can try to find someone that will do a special button.

It looks good in the Options window. I think Bruce deserved a credit in About

some information from the old help file is missing

I have some free time on the weekend, I'll expand it.

1. I was talking about Contributors in About TMP (right click in the addons manager ... which i haven't seen for years!) - just the name, i guess.

2. I'm sure deeper explanations can be added, right Gary? The problem is, Bruce (and i) don't use some of those options and not sure what to say about them. Some, i think, are self-explanatory. What do you think needs explanation?

3. What info is missing?

4. (about a link to KB) Do you mean things like javascript and/or about:config?

5. I think it's a good idea! Right in the top part: 'Should you experience problems with your installation .....'

This needs to be added:

the section about 'Enable undo close tabs' needs a bit of an explanation, something like: TMP has a toolbar button for closed tabs list. Rclicik on the toolbar/Customize. Drag the toolbarbutton out of that window on a toolbar, the button can not be placed on the tabbar at this time, blah, blah, blah.

i think it would be nice if you could add a few lines about backup folder to the Sessions section. Something like:
TMP keeps sessions in session.rdf file in your profile (link it to KB?) and a sessionsbakup folder. If session.rdf gets corrupted, open the sessionsbackup folder, choose a backup file, rename it session.rdf and replace the corrupted one.
