Should TMP allow its own Undo Close Tab option to appear in the Tab Context Menu, as it is now a native function in Ff2? The TMP options panel allows it to be turned on which then doubles up the Undo Close Tab option in the context menu - I had it on as I have just upgraded from Ff 1.5 to 2 and I got duplicate menu options.

It seems like the code that I got from Toscha in the dev-build thread doesn't work in this build.
Hi Artifex, sorry, I didn't see that rc1-thread due to being offline some days.

If you enter the following into the userChrome.css the nice, slim look is back again: :)

/* Change the height of the tabbar */
.tabbrowser-tabs > tab
{
height: 20px !important;
}

.tabbrowser-tabs > tab .tab-close-button
{
margin: 0px -3px 0px 0px !important;
}

.tabbrowser-tabs > tab[tabx=showhover][showbutton=on] .tab-text,
.tabbrowser-tabs > tab[tabx=current_hover][showbutton=on]:not([selected="true"]) .tab-text
{
margin-top: 2px !important;
margin-bottom: 0px !important;
}

.tabbrowser-tabs > tab[tabx=showhover][showbutton=on] .tab-progress,
.tabbrowser-tabs > tab[tabx=current_hover][showbutton=on]:not([selected="true"]) .tab-progress
{
margin-top: 2px !important;
margin-botton: 0px !important;
}

Ciao
Toscha

Back to square one. Your code does, indeed, add a close button to a single loaded tab in 2.0rc2, but the close button doesn't blank the tab, which is what I need/want.

Quote:
well it closes it and then reopens a blank tab, which should be what you wanted

I didn't realize, until after I posted the message, that the code I referred to was not from you, but from a guest poster. The code adds a "cosmetic" close button to the last open tab, but it does nothing ... it does not blank the tab, which remains loaded with whatever page is on it.

Quote:
or did you just want it to change it to "about:blank" and still maintain the tab history

I want the close button on the last tab to blank the tab ("about:blank"), but leave it open. I don't really care whether it maintains the tab history or not, as it's not a feature I need or use.

My whole point was that TMP's options provide for a close button on all tabs. In both FF 1.5.0.7 and 3.0 (Minefield) the close button appears on the last tab and will blank that tab. That is not the case in 2.0 (Bon Echo) ... a close button does not appear on the last tab. Again, the code referred to above adds a close button to the last tab, but it does absolutely nothing.

That was it! I thought I had all TMP settings the same in all three FF versions, but somehow I missed that one in Bon Echo. Thanks.

Seems to duplicate some tabs when a session is restored. Using Fx 2.0 RC2. Wtf?

either disable our sessionmanager/crash recovery or disable firefox default session store feature

you can do this by going to the address bar and typing about:config then search for browser.sessionstore.enabled. if its not there then you would have to create a boolean value and set it to false

oohhh im gunna check out that file ive been waiting for this, and maybe you would like some reasons then?

1. if you accidently navigate away from the page and hit back, you have to set it again...
2. if on a one off you want to refresh the page yourself? i.e. its set to 15 mins but your bout to popout n you wanna check for changes before you go?
3. on a crappy site like myspace, you have to refresh every page to see changes, having it get cancelled all the time is annoying....

these are my reasons....

omg, Thank You !!! Its really working :D :D

But, when there is new version of Tab Mix Plus, then i'am/we are lost again, cause we dont have the code to fix it again in the new version ?!?!

For the reasons:
same as Static_Rage and also:

i use reloadevery for gmx inbox.. and when i click/delete a message and go back to the inbox folder again, reloadevery is disabled.. that is so annoying..

another one: on ebay: auctions i bet and watch.. i reloadevery them every 5min, if i click an auction to check something and go back again, reloadevery is disabled and again i have to reenable it..

good/enough reasons? :) :(

Now Tab Mix Plus is perfect for me :D :D

what about something that will keep it enabled a specific url. then if you accidentally navigate away and come back it will still work unless you strictly disable it.

this is kinda how the rename tab works

Should TMP disable Firefox's session restore by default if its own Session Manager is enabled? Doing this would prevent doubling of restored tabs on restart.[/wiki]

extensions.tabmix.hideIcons was set to false by default it seems, the problem is just one icon has been removed since the 0.3.0.5 stable :( it causes a problem with cutemenus.

and i saw no difference in the reloadevery behaviour?

also since FF2 has session reload built in, why is it being kept in TMP?
