GMail has just come out with a newer version to run with FF 2.0 - however, if you have certain FF extensions, it does not work properly. When I download attachments, my Gmail tab goes blank and, after I download the attachment, I cannot get back to the inbox. Another forum says this is caused by the Tab Mix Plus, but I don't want to disable it just to use the newer GMail. ANyone else have a problem with this?

Hi,
I have the same problem you have, i've disabled Tab Mix Plus and now it works fine.
I hope Tab Mix Plus people can solve the problem, it's a very good extension...
Let's wait.

Aside from either reverting to the older version or disabling the extension, which I do not want to do, a workaround is to, instead of "downloading" first, open up in the "view" window, then right click and save from that window. It's a few extra strokes, but beats the alternative.

well, I hadnt think of this, but it is indeed a good workaround, thanks a lot.

hope this problem gets solved quickly, TBP does not compare with firefox's tab management, and I must say 'congratz' to the developer ... but the 'blanking' effect is very annoying .... so is having to view the attachment and then downloading it in order to actually opening it ... it didnt happen before, is it possible something changed in gmail? maybe they updated their software? I notice something different, but cannot tell what ...

anyway, thanks for the suggestion... and the dev. plz fix this problem, if possible, at your earliest convenience. thanks

i will look into this bug...

workaround 1:
open TMP options > Links > Prevent blank tabs when downloading files > EDIT
and remove from the list the line /disp=attd&view=att/

workaround 2:
lock the tab

workaround 3:
Ctrl-click or middle-Click on the Download link

Aw, man, I just came here to report the problem, with the very same workaround as your #1. Bummer... Glad it's being worked on, though. I actually removed both /disp=attd&view=att/ and /view=att&disp=attd/ to be safe. Good luck with a fix!

Firefox 2.0.0.9 under Vista. TabMixPlus 0.3.6

I'd just like to confirm this bug.

There are other effects two. The cursor arrow will disappear if you hover over a Firefox tab or over any of the checkboxes to the left of each email message in the newer version of Gmail.

Workaround #1 above cures all the problems. I look forward to a fix.

Thanks

Jeremy

Came here to report the same bug. It's also been reported to Google via the Gmail group, however wanted to let you know about it also. I tried the workaround #1 above and it seems good as new!

Thanks!

Thanks for the workaround. Wife was having issues with attachments and didn't want to quit using Firefox.

Props to the quick response and fix.

Running FF 2.00.13 on Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger), and none of the 3 workarounds resolved the problem.

Arghh! Correction please: In trying to resolve my initial problems, I installed the PermaTabs extension and had inadvertently set the tab from which I was loading to "permanent." Removing the designation resolved the problems I was having with the FF, Gmail and OS X. (This was done using Build 0.3.6.1.080406). My apologies for the confusion.

Hello,

I confirm this bug and just want to let you know that the bug now appear in the "Google Help Center" here: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=known_issues.cs

Attachment downloads lead to a blank screen when Tab Mix Plus is installed

We suggest disabling the extension.

So I want to know if you are going to update your extension ?

Also, do you think you are going to continue to update frequently your extension (first for Firefox 3, and for 64bits edition of Firefox 3, and of course for the Gmail bug...) ?

Because Tab Mix Plus is very important for me, I want to know if it have a great future or just an abandoned future...

Thank you for this excellent extension I'm using for years, thank you very much for did it !

Kind regards.

(Sorry for my bad English...)

Potpot,

1st use tabmix dev-build, it should work with Gmail

2nd, if this don't work "WE" suggest to disable Gmail, Google are very small software company that make buggy web pages Smile

3rd, i can assure you that when i get income like Google for every user of Tabmix i will continue to update it.
