I just installed the tabmixplus dev 0.3.6.0.070923 on Portable Firefox 3 Beta 2 and I noticed I have 3 close buttons on each tab:

I've seen that upon the initial restart after installing TMP dev version. Restarting Minefield and probably FF3 beta and the problem goes away at least for me.

Using TMP 0.3.6.0.071228 on Fx3b2 with the default theme and multirow tabs (set to max of 3, using 2).

I'm still getting the tabs (and by extension, the tab row) growing taller by about a pixel when I mouse over.

this is done by the default theme you can check Firefox without TMP and see the same

Yes, I understand that, but the problem is the entire tab row shifts down when the tab gets taller, causing everything to shift including the page contents. This definitely does not happen without TMP.

Short version: I found the problem; all's well.

Longer version: I discovered what the problem was. Before I upgraded Fx to 3.0b2 I was using the Winestripe theme. After upgrading, Winestripe was marked as incompatible and it was showing the default theme. But when I looked closer at the theme picker it still had Winestripe selected. I set it to use the default theme, and it's no longer doing the goofy shifting thing.

So I'm guessing it was doing some weird frankenstein merge of the two themes since the one that was selected wasn't compatible.

First let me say thanks much for the update. All is pretty good. The issue I see now is that I have the tab-bar set to 'show spaces' on both ends, and there is hardly any space at all showing, allowing no room to click to open another tab.

I don't use the new tab button, or the scroll arrows, only the show spaces on both sides, and allow 3 rows on overflow.

Thanks again for the good-work.

For Windows Xp the last working build with tmp was
20080108_1946_firefox-3.0b3preMozilla/5.0
(Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2008010819 Minefield/3.0b3pre ID:2008010819

any later build doesn't work for me under windows xp anymore.
(tested all hourly since then)
guess they changes something in the trunk again ?

Here are the check-ins for the next (2023) build that broke TMP:

http://hourly-archive.localgho.st/win32/20080108_2023_checkins.html

It is the 2008010820 build where TMP is first borked. The 2009010819 build does not break TMP.

The change causing problems is in browser.js. Reverting to an old one fixes the problem, now checking what causes that problem exactly.

I hope you will see this DeathWolf. Which "old one" are you referring?

http://saber.kawaii-shoujo.net/Various/tab_mix_plus-0.3.6.0.071228.xpi

Here is a fixed version. I just modified the tabmixplus\content\tabmixplus\minit\tablib.js file, which was using a function that got renamed.( BrowserHomeClick became BrowserGoHome)
You can change it yourself by editing that file line 291, and changing BrowserHomeClick into BrowserGoHome.(there are two instances of that, on the same line)

Changed the function as you said and now the latest nightly works again.

The new build seems to not work for me. Tabs load, but the options window is missing, as is the Options link under Tools.

I have already uninstalled/reinstalled TMP with no help - still broken.

Same at me

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) Gecko/2008010904 Minefield/3.0b3pre

tmp: http://saber.kawaii-shoujo.net/Various/tab_mix_plus-0.3.6.0.071228.xpi

But i had the same problem with older fx-builds with "official" testing-versions.
