I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 5 and Tabmixplus and since going to FF3 I've not been asked to confirm / cancel / save when closing multiple tabs when exiting. I have the option ticked in the TMP settings and if I check the settings in about:config I have browser.tabs.warnOnClose set to True and also extensions.tabmix.warnOnclose set to True. Just wondering if there's anything else I can check?

Thanks

Same here, but I'm asked closing a second window with some tabs open. And having any second Firefox window opened I'm asked too.

Sorry, I completely forgot the basics when asking for help

TMP is the current version (0.7.5.4) but it's done it since I switched from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3 beta 4 and then beta 5 with some of the earlier TMP's. I've only just got around to investigating why. I think Mc is onto something though as I've just tried it with a second window open and I get the same, it works as expected. This is all on a Vista Ultimate machine. On my XP machine with the same version of Firefox and TMP everything works as expected.

Also, I've just remembered another problem when I was looking at the version number. This ones been around whilst I've been using Firefox 3 betas as well and I'd forgotten all about it.

The box is not resizeable. Not really a problem though.

Prof. Yaffle, try the following:

1. uncheck Enable Session Manager
2. go to browser.warnOnQuit in about:config and toggle it to true
3. check Enable Session Manager
(without 1. I couldn't do 2.)

Warning should work then.

I only seem to be able to toggle browser.warnonQuit when Firefox's built in Session Restore is enabled. I usually use the built in Firefox one anyway but but if I deselect it and then alter the TMP session manager settings I can't alter browser.warnonQuit at all. As soon as I deselect it browser.warnonQuit reverts to false and won't change. I managed to get the warning up once but I'm not sure how because I can't get it again.

I have just noticed that if I deselect the Firefox Session Restore and then exit Firefox when I go back in it's re-enabled again.

There are some Firefox bugs about not proper working warnings, browser.warnOnQuit and browser.tabs.warnOnClose

Fair enough, it is only a beta after all. It's not really a great hassle tbh

Thanks.

browser.warnonQuit is for build-in session manager you don't need it if you are using TMP session manager

whe build-in session manager is on you are only see the warning if browser.startup.page is not 3

Another very interesting bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404081

I'll give some more explanations what happens on Fx3.0rc2 too. I've set
1. browser.tabs.warnOnClose;true
2. extensions.tabmix.protectedtabs.warnOnClose;true
3. extensions.tabmix.warnOnclose;true

Only 1. seems to work.
If thats set to false, 2. doesn't work.
It doesn't make a difference how 3. is set.

If I check and uncheck "Warn when closing multiple tabs" in TMP settings 1. is toggled. I would have expected 3. would be though.

Seems on Fx3 all depends on how session restore is set in session manger, TMP's or the built-in one. BTW, browser.startup.page is set to 1

any updates on this bug?
I've tried editing the settings via about:config, but it didn't work. I've closed my browser so many times with cmd-q (osx) by accident since i'm no longer warned...

I just wanted to report that I noticed if I clicked the "x" button instead of using cmd-q, I was actually warned about closing all tabs. I then tried changing the setting to prevent the last window from closing via shortcut key, but that didn't effect cmd-q behavior.

I haven't tested this behavior on PC/Windows using Alt-F4...

Maybe someone already said this and I missed it, but with the change to the option of "save tabs for next time" in FF3 (the new "warn when closing multiple tabs" option), the session manager seems NOT to be compatible with this. If you have the TMP session manager enabled, that is when you wont get a warning when you are closing your "lone" open window (still, as others have said, it works when you have multiple windows open...)

If you select the "use firefox's built in session manager" option in the session manager tab, the multiple tabs warning seems to work fine...I like the new ability to save the session for next time in FF3, but I still would love to use this in combination with the "save session" feature of the TMP session manager. Hopefully this can be worked out.

I use firefox built-in session manager and I don't get the multiple tabs warning :(

Anyway, all these are set to true =
browser.tabs.warnOnClose;true
extensions.tabmix.protectedtabs.warnOnClose;true
extensions.tabmix.warnOnclose;true

Like others said, when I have only one window open,
I don't get the multiple tabs warning, but if I open up more windows
with multiple tabs, then I get the multiple tabs warning.

I have read the various duplicate bug reports for firefox,
but they don't really mention a solution.

Is the only thing I can do is to wait for the next firefox update?

I'm not shure the next Firefox version will solve it, but I hope onemen finds a solution.

thank you guys for the temp solution.

But, the outcome i found is that it's not a tmp problem, but really a firefox 3.0 problem.

I mean, that this last window saving tab function is completely useless for me, and it's like replacing the warning tabs closing message.

I used to close window even with multiple tabs ant just tap enter to close. Now it save all the tab, that's boring (the preselect button is saving and not just closing).
Without tmp, I guess you can turn off this saving tab function and keep the tabs warning.

But with tmp, with the about config modification (turn off tmp session manager, enabled warn on close, and turn on tmp's) you keep at least a message before closing, even if this is only the saving tab one.

Sadly i'm not sure that the next version of firefox will fix this. anyway, like often new features are not always good ones (especially this one, and the awesome not so awesome bar but it's an other subject).
