John,

Likely due to the bug landing that Harlequin99 and I posted about. It landed in the 20090401 Shiretoko nightly. It deals with a revision to the browser's session restore that has rendered TMP incompatible with it.

We are all anxiously awaiting Gary and onemen to fix TMP. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer.

I actually use the Session Manager extension to handle all session-related activities (and use TMP for tab functionality). I am seeing this problem where all tabs spin forever upon loading a session. Do you think it's a TMP or SM problem? I don't doubt a change in the nightly would break both, just wondering which extension I have to monitor for a fix.

same annoying problem here

Many thanks onemen. All your hard work on this is really appreciated. :D

From an initial quick inspection all seems to work great in both minefield and 3.5 nightlies.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090403 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre ID:20090403044228

Small bug, but unticking Display > Tab bar > Show New Tab Button does not have the expected effect if After Last Tab is selected.

However if Left Side or Right Side is selected then unselecting Show New Tab Button does indeed hide the New Tab button.

Apart from this tiny bug things appear to be working again. Thanks so much onemen!

Gosh, the latest version works fine, so now I can't post a rant, `you'd better fix this', !?!? (etc.), meaningless, nonsensical, `whateverical' message that makes no sense, uses meaningless grammar and punctuation, and other such things.

Unlike the one I just saw on MozillaZine, where the problem is clearly with the user's copy of Firefox, but the user claims that `you'd better fix this or Firefox is going to stop being used by anyone in the world' idiocy.

I guess I just don't know how to do that sort of thing, so I'm left to just post a thank-you to onemen for his/her/its continued contributions to those of us who continue to use Shiretoko, Firefox et.al..

In Fx 3.1b3 so much isn't working with the new dev-build, even sessions don't at all. So I suppose it's just for Fx 3.5 and 3.6. I'll go back to the previous build and won't try it in Fx 3.0.8

I suspect Fx 3.1b3 is too far behind where TMP dev version is. TMP dev version has been revised to be functionally compatible with where the Trunk (Minefield) and Branch (Shiretoko) nightlies current are.

Unless you want to move up to the cutting (Branch) edge, you should not update from the previous dev version of TMP when using Fx 3.1b3. Stay with the TMP dev version from back in January 2009. However, if and when Fx 3.5b4 comes out, you will probably have to update to the latest TMP dev version as Fx 3.5b4 will have the various patches that are already in Branch.

FYI-The Mozilla folks decided to up the next Fx version number from 3.1 to 3.5 to reflect the number and quality of enhancements and new features that will be introduced in this next production release of Fx.

WildcatRay, it may be as you and I suspect, but in the past dev-versions worked with all current Fx versions. So oneman might tell us if we are right.

Thx for the new build.

I have an issue although it's not a bug. Opening tabs besides the currently active one is a nice idea but not customizable for my taste. I would like to open new tabs that come from links on a page next to the currently active one. On the other hand I would like tabs that I open through booksmarks or the open tab button to open at the end of the row.

What you propose is the behaviour being discussed in bug 465673. If the devs come to any agreement it could become the default behaviour in firefox.

To anybody who wants to follow the bug development please use the voting mechanism rather than commenting in the bug directly.

Yep... so will the current TMP work with beta 4?

It would be faster to just back your Profile up and then install the latest TMP dev build. If an extension fails you restore the backed up Profile.

TMP 0.3.7.4pre.090404 is working with the latest branch build aside from the minor reported glitch. It is nice to have the Closed Tabs feature working again.

It fails for 3.1 beta 3, that's why I'm asking.

If you read earlier on this page, you will see that you are not the first one to mention that the current dev version of TMP does not work in Fx 3.1b3. If you are using that version of Fx, stay with the January version of the YMP dev build.

There have been major revisions to the browser code from when beta 3 was released. This version of TMP dev build addresses those changes and probably will only work in the current Branch and Trunk nightlies. The author(s) have not yet confirmed this, though.

Hi onemen...

Congrats on the new version. The new features sound pretty cool.

An old feature, though, seems to have broken. Multi-row tab bar displays as a single line w/o buttons. If I scroll the mouse over the bar, I get an extra row with buttons, but the second row is blank and the buttons scroll horizontally.

This worked fine in the previous build under FF 3.1b3 on Ubuntu.

Thanks for all your hard work!
