Most issues reported in this forums usually end up to be extensions or theme conflicts. To help us to help you, here are some steps you can take to try and troubleshoot your problem(-s).

First of all, install the latest dev.build to see if the problem might have been solved (there's always a dev.build sticky thread in the Builds forum).

Other things to do:

1. Create a new profile, install TMP and import your settings from the problematic profile. If you don't see the problem, it's most likely a conflict with another ext. Install your exts. one by one restarting in between until problem reappears (once you isolate the conflicting extension(-s), you don't have to use the new profile unless you want to).

You can try disabling your exts. instead (to expedite, try disabling one half, then another, etc.). Then enable one by one. This is not as good as a clean profile 'cause there might be other changes in your user prefs file, for instance.
Once you find the culprit, you can post it and see if TMP developers can help to solve it and also let the author of the conflicting ext. or theme know so that they can work it out as well.

2. Enable error console (this step does not solve any problems by itself but gives a very valuable information).
  • Type about:config in the URLbar/Enter (just check 'I'll be careful...' in the warning that will popup - Fx 3.6 and up. The changes you're about to make will not hurt anything but will help you in the future should you need to report problems about this or any other ext. to developers)
  • Type javascript.options.showInConsole in the Filter field/Enter. Double click on the line that will show and this will reset it to true.
  • Type javascript.options.strict and set it to true.
Open the error console (Tools/Web Developer > Error Console) and clear it. Restart Fx, try to re-create the steps of your issue and check console for TMP related errors (it will look something like .../.../tabmixplus/...). Copy/paste errors in your post (or take a screenshot and post it).

In Aurora/nightlies, set devtools.errorconsole.enabled to true (needs a restart).

3. If you have trouble keeping settings from getting reset, try this - support.mozilla Help page

4. Conflicts have been reported with Ubuntu Firefox Modifications ext., so if you use Ubuntu, disable that one (you can read more here).

Conflicts with BarTab, Colorful Tabs and Tree Style Tab have been reported. Since all this exts. manipulate tabs, shouldn't be surprising. Don't panic, this conflicts are usually solved rather quickly, especially if good info is given (like errors in console, screenshots, steps to recreate, etc.). Feel free to post your issues in the dev.build thread and provide as much info as possible.

For more reading about this issues, just use the Search button at the top of every page.

5. Sometimes people complain about a dev.build (or a release) being incompatible. You're welcome to try other, older builds but keep in mind that TMP is always compatible and always working, even with Aurora and nightlies, despite Fx incompatibility warning you might be seeing. If you're testing pre-release Fx versions, you really should install Add-on Compatibility Reporter. While it will not eliminate the warning, it will allow you to install and use addons with pre-release Fx versions.
Remember to always use the latest dev.build with latest Fx pre-release versions, let it be Aurora, nightlies, beta.

6. And the last but not the least important thing. When posting in the forum, please, always include your OS, Fx and TMP versions. A list of your exts. is also very useful as somebody might spot a troublesome ext. which can lead to a faster resolution.
You can set your OS, Fx and TMP info in the signature field in your profile (link to the User Control Panel is at the top of every page). This way you won't have to type it every time. Just remember to update it with Fx and/or TMP update! :)
There also a few exts. that will help you with posting such info in forums, like Infolister and Extensions Dumper.

7. And finally, you can try resetting Firefox.

It is very helpful if you can post the steps to reproduce your problem and if you experience an issue with a specific page, include a link(-s).
You may be asked to post your TMP preferences. To do that, follow this steps:

1. TMP Options > click the 'Settings' button at the bottom left corner.
2. Choose 'Export Settings' and save the file to a location on your hard drive.
3. In your thread, click Full Editor button under the quick reply box.
3. Locate Filename and Browse buttons, click and navigate to the file you just saved.
5. Click Submit.

/* =========================== */

To help the developers and users to track issues and get better search results, please remember to:

post problems with beta builds in the Builds forum.
Problems with display should be posted in the Display Issues sticky.
Problems with official releases should be posted in the Problems & Questions forum.

Thank you for your cooperation and Good Luck!
