onemen,
you probably know this by now but just in case you've missed it somehow, Morac says AMO allows betas now. This could solve the forum overflow with angry posts with every Fx update when we have a working dev. build Image

I found a potential bug with TMP 0.3.8.2 and Firefox 3.6b4 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Setting "Open links from other applications in:" to "Current Tab" will load the link in a new window instead of the current tab. Setting it to "New Tab" or "New Window" works as intended. I have tried this with a new profile and only TMP installed and I get the same result.

Sorry if this is a repeat, as my searches didn't turn up any recent results.

EDIT: Looks like this was a problem with FF3.6b5, as the problem went away in 3.6RC1.

I just started using the Chromifox theme. I have a small glitch (see the image): if I open a new tab from a link on a webpage (not from my favourites!), there is some wrong rendering between two tabs.
  • I'm running Firefox 3.6b5,
  • on Karmic Koala
  • and I have Tab Mix Plus 0.3.8.2pre.091012 installed
  • in combination with Chromifox Basic 3.6b5

This is what I see:

(I have posted this also on the MozillaZine thread of Chromifox)

I've Run All the JS in the XPI package through a Javascript beautifier,
and also Fixed your install.rdf file, so it will meets the new demands of Mozilla Code, for Gecko/20091204 (for the new firefox 3.6 to come in a few days).

no information been actually changed.
also- to keep things fast I've slim down languages other then EN-US, you can add easily, this one is only 243KB.

ext.mirror:
http://netload.in/dateinSN3zzZogK/Tab Mix Plus 0.3.8.2pre.091012.zip.htm

(change extension zip to xpi)
notice that, this is just for example (not a usable rebuild) since I've checked and by running the js through YUI compressor you can reduce the size by about 200+ kb, thats a lot! oh.. and the install.rdf is just the new format recommendation..

I tried your build and it does not work properly. I tried it in 3.6b5 & 3.6RC1. All the checkboxes in the options were unchecked, and some sections were completely blank.

thanks but its not mine nor a suitable build to be tested,
I've just tune-up the JS files, probably packed everything else not very clean.

yep. just meant the developer to consider using YUI Compressor, which is safe and can speed up the loading. and the JS beautifier is by Einar Lielmanis, those two can be download free as GNU, the YUI is a jar file to download and the JS beautifier can be downloaded free from the website (google it) for offline use. Those are 'a mus have' for Addon-Developers.

Hi,

first off thank you for this beautiful extensions.
I have updated to firefox 3.6 on a mac 10.6 (snow leopard) and I have tab mix plus 0.3.8.2
I have found a bug: the new tab button does not stay after last tab as it shoulds (I checked this behaviour in tab mix options) but it goes instead to the far right of tab bar after you click the button for the first time. It seems like firfox does not checks the newTabButton.position value.
Hope this helps :)

Gimmik

Hiya,

This old bug appears to have resurfaced with Firefox 3.6:

"Fixed: When home page consists of several tabs, only the first two tabs are loaded at startup."

Thanks!

onemen, can you please look at http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11713

it's not possible to configure the fx3.6 default tab opening behavior with TMP

Bug report

To reproduce:
Firefox 3.6
Tab Mix Plus 0.3.8.3pre.100125
Tree Style Tab 0.8.2009122501

1) Make new profile and install 2 addon

2) Leave default preferences for Firefox and Tab Mix Plus

3) In Tree Style Tab, un-check option under "Tree" tab: "When a tab gets focus, expand its tree and collapse others automatically"

4) Open many tabs so scrollbar for Tab bar appears.

5) Open group of bookmarks as tree. Use "open all in tabs"

6) Error: On Tab bar, the scrollbar size will grow. The correct result should be scrollbar shrinking as more tabs are added.

This error only happens when Tree Style Tab option is unchecked. This error only happens with recent version of Tab Mix Plus. I've reverted to Tab Mix Plus Version 0.3.8.1 where bug does not occur.

"open new tabs next to current one" does not produce fx3.6 default behavior

fx3.6 default: only tabs from links open next to the source tab, tabs from bookmarks, external links and presumably other sources (if any) open at the end

tmp: bookmarks, external links and perhaps other sources open next to current tab

this can be addressed by either:

a) Relying on Fx 3.6 tab opening logic entirely and simply providing UI for insertRelatedAfterCurrent

or, preferably

b) Expanding TMP tab opening options UI to make it possible to specify the sources from which tabs open relative

when updating to 0.3.8.3pre.100125 it messed up the customized rightclick menu on my tabs...downgrading to previous version fixed it.

and how do I remove the new tab button + that is on the left side of the tab bar? its still there even if I remove the tick from "new tab button" in settings

firefox 3.6, menu editor addon

Even though it is listed as compatible, I don't think Menu Edit is truly functionally compatible with Fx 3.6. (It has not been updated since May 2008.)

Personally, I use Personal Menu which has been kept up to date.

I would disable Menu Editor and then see if your problems persist.

mak,

I cannot recall what exactly I saw with Menu Editor, but with it installed, I had a problem or two. It may have been a conflict with another extension, but one should be concerned when an extension has not been updated for over a year.

Personal Menu has been a good extension without any sign of trouble with Fx 3.5, 3.6/Namoroka Branch or Minefield Trunk flavors of browser. 8)
