I have been using the 4.0 beta series from mozilla for a bit (currently at B9), and have been trying to do an "open all in tabs" from a book-mark folder. If TMP is installed, it is not working ... if it is not there, it works fine ... (or could it be some other plugins I have ... interacting with TMP)

I had this problem too. The only fix I found was creating a new profile and reinstalling all of my add-ons. Now its working fine.

if I clear the error console just before doing the open all in tabs, I get
Error: TMP_Places.getURLsForContainerNode is not a function
Source File: chrome://tabmixplus/content/utils.js
Line: 253

in the error console ...

will try other things from testing page latter ...

unfortunately - the machine I was doing testing on blue screened - with disk issues on reboot - had noticed that if I reinstalled Google toolbar, it fixed the issue ... will try to get back to testing once I finish recreating test environment ...
