It also appears that using the duplicate tab function causes the window to semi-lock. Symptom: Once you have created a duplicate tab, you can no longer select the first tab.

I can also confirm the same.

Other than losing some recently added TMP features that landed in later TMP Dev builds I've had no problems so far with Tab Mix Plus 0.3.8.6pre.110303a on the latest 2011-07-07 Aurora 7.0a2 and Nightly 8.0a1 builds.

Thanks BruceAWittmeier for the info.

So far this TMP 0.3.8.6pre.110303a works with FF 8.0a1 x64, Thank You for posting this. Of course I altered the rdf file to 9.0, but It does work, better than 0.3.8.6 did.

crash restore may need some touchups.

FF7/8 crashes frequently on me and when it does restoring the session doesn't always work. Sometimes it will load all tabs empty, sometimes it will say there are more/less tabs from the crashed session than there actually was, other times it loads one or two tabs/windows alone and doesn't display the rest. Also the TMP closed windows menu is a hit or miss, sometimes it displays and other times not.

I alternate between Aurora and Minefield:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110729 Firefox/8.0a1
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0a2) Gecko/20110728 Firefox/7.0a2

EDIT: Good example comes less than two minutes ago. I switched to so I could copy the info above and FF crashed right after login. I had 2 windows, one of them with 5 tabs; btw only the active tab from both windows was loaded before the crash since I use the concurrent tabs setting in about:config. The crash session stated 5 tabs, nothing about windows. So I went ahead and opened the crashed session and only the previously active tabs loaded while the others didn't even show, nor were they shown in recently closed tabs.

Again, this may be something with Aurora/Nightly seeing how they crash about as much as last summer's FF releases, but it may be a good idea to review the session handler...

EDITv2: Did the mentioned patch land yet? In which FF channel?

I use that version on 8.0a1 and the only thing I miss is the ability to rearrange tabs, with that version I can't drag tabs about to reorder them. But almost everything else I have tried works.

Yep same here, works like a charm outside of that.

I have been using the modified version of rob64rock's and like others Im unable to drag a tab to another location.

For whatever its worth, here is the error from the error console:
Error: TAB_DROP_TYPE is not defined
Source File: chrome://tabmixplus/content/minit/minit.js
Line: 122

I assume you are using Nightly. The issue is due to the landing of tab animation. onemen is aware of it. In fact, he alerted us that the bug was going to land and that it would affect TMP.

EDIT: Link to onemen's post.

I updated to the latest nightly 8.0a build and now I can't exit the browser. Trying to close the last window gives me the following error:

Error: invalid 'instanceof' operand Components.interfaces.nsIDOMWindowInternal
Source file: chrome://tabmixplus/content/links/contentLinks.js
Line: 769

Actually TMP doesn't appear to work at all with the latest nightly. It gives a bunch of error messages, but being unable to quit Firefox is a major one:

TabMix :
TMP_tablib_init can't find string: this.addTab("about:blank", {skipAnimation: true});
in gBrowser._endRemoveTab
report about this to Tabmix developer at http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/

TabMix :
updateOpenTabset can't find string: aWindow.openDialog(aWindow.getBrowserURL(), "_blank", "chrome,all,dialog=no", urls.join("|"));
in PlacesUIUtils._openTabset
report about this to Tabmix developer at http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/

Thanks, Ray. Yes I did see onemen's post giving the warning about a week ago but I was in the error console for another reason and wanted to provide the error message in case it might help. :)

Hi guys, I'm using the latest Tab Mix Plus build with the latest Firefox Nightly build. Lately I've noticed that I can't move my tab positions by clicking and dragging them. Is this broken with Nightly, or do I maybe have a settings messed up?

edit: ahhh I just saw the above post. So looks like this is a known bug and hopefully it is being worked on? Unless does anyone know of a workaround?

No workaround that I am aware of. The good thing is that it is not a "fatal" issue meaning it does not render things unusable.

I would assume that onemen is either busy with other things or is waiting for something else to land before revising TMP to work with the tab animation setup.

Hi. I'm having a problem with tab width on OS X. I've set the min tab width to 28, which causes the tabs to overlap. This works fine on Windows.

OS X 10.6.8
Firefox 5.0.1
TMP 0.3.8.6 and 0.3.8.6pre110429a

Your font may be affecting the width as well. It look like it is trying to make space for 2 chars which might be a min, but there just isnt enough room. Try bumping up the tab width by increments of 2 until there is no overlap. I use the Tahoma Font and set mine for 48 and it seems to work fine.

My worst hack to date.
add:
let TAB_DROP_TYPE = 'text/plain';

to the beginning of tab mix plus.xpi\chrome\tabmixplus.jar\content\minit\minit,js

It stops TAB_DROP_TYPE from causing an error. I can drag and drop tabs to reorder or drop off Firefox to open a new window. This really might mess something up, but so far I have not ran into problems. You don't get the fancy new animations.

Thanks. I made the modification and it installed OK. Reordering works. Have not yet seen any adverse effects yet.
