With the release of FF7, I've noticed a big difference in long term memory usage between FF7 + TMP and FF7 without TMP.
Would it be possible to have one release dedicated to reducing memory leaks and usage?

After a day of heavy browsing:
- Throughout the session, approximately 25 windows + 150 tabs (not all at the same time, but a rough estimate of the total number of windows/tabs opened and closed throughout the day)
- By the end of the session, I had closed it with 7 Windows + a total of 41 tabs.

At the end with 7 windows and 41 tabs (medium sized pages, not media heavy), Firefox was using 1.2gb of memory with another 1gb of page memory.

While closing tabs/windows after use, the memory usage did not drop much even when closing a window with many image/content heavy pages.

I believe it may have something to do with the way TMP stores the "closed windows" and "closed tabs" or the session manager.
I currently use it on the toolbar and via clicking of the tab bar (ctrl+click).

Plugin development is fairly foreign to me, but I've tried to find something that may help you in your cause.

I'm happy to help with testing where possible!
If you want an export of my settings, let me know.

Hmm, would that delete all my saved window sessions in TMP?
I have quite a few saved... (currently sessions A-P)

No, SM and TMP work well together. There'll be a pop up asking you if you want to covert TMP sessions to SM, say 'yes' and it will all be done for you.

Ah that's good.
Will there be a way to go back if I don't like SM?

Sorry, it's just that I have a lot of old stuff in the saved sessions and worried about losing it.

Should you have problems, which i hope you won't as thousands of people using SM don't (including myself), post in the thread onemen has linked above and Morac will help you. I doubt you will not 'like' SM especially since you seem to have 'a lot of stuff', SM is loaded with options.
But, if you'll decide to go back to TMP sm, just uninstall SM and everything should be converted back to TMP sm.
Please, don't forget to post your findings here as onemen has asked you above. Thanks!

that's not right:
Tabmix only keep the sessions you have before you start to use SM. Tabmix is not converting anything back from SM to Tabmix

Thanks, so, if somebody goes back to TMP, the sessions before converting to SM will be restore or none?

All the data that was converting to SM is available for the user. but none of the session that was saved by SM

Not bad.

First load came up with 1 new window with 1 tab showing my homepage. My previous TMP session containing windows 5 windows 64 tabs didn't restore =(
Freaked me out

Imported my sessions over to SM, loaded it up. Crisis averted.
Options are good, nice and neat.
I prefer having separate toolbar buttons for closed windows and closed tabs.
Also missed having ctrl+click to undo close tab.
That said, I've gone back to TMP because I'm used to it and I find it's quicker with the extra shortcut options.

After about a week and a half with SM, memory usage seems to be a bit less than TMP session manager.
I'm still finding myself restarting the browser at the end of the day but it does come down to my insane usage patterns.

Does anyone know if TMP uses the same "internal closed windows" list that SM uses?

Good question... Personally I don't have an idea but would like to know too.

TMP uses different file format, and only save closed windows from the current session
