ray , notice that with the new version you don't suppose to have any problem with middle-click, just look in the error console for any messages

Regarding the current issues people are having with middle-click, I'm running TMP 111011 on FF7 and had even more extreme problems like ctrl-shit-a opening new tab instead of addon manager.

I checked my extensions and found that HotspotShield had updated and added "Anchorfreesiteadvisor" to my addons.

So I did two things simultaneously: Reset TMP settings and disabled anchorfree addon, then restarted FF and customized TMP again, with no middle-click or ctrl-click problems.

I've tested the middle-click on this forum and Youtube as well as bookmarks with no problem so can someone tell me what websites were giving problems and what error console to look to?

EDIT: Following Squeaky's example, here's my TMP prefs and Add-ons. Also I accidentally deleted my profile before this edit so all data provided is from starting with a fresh profile...

Regarding middle-click problems, with 111011 middle-click was completely fubared when MClickFocusTab 4.0.20110309 was installed in my Firefox 7 on Windows 7x64, but that build posted a few posts up seems to have fixed it.

Goog/Goog maps 'More' link still opens a new tab for me. My tabs are not locked. Force to open > All links. But Options icon does drop a menu.

Updated my last post with TMP prefs n addons installed.

Adding on to that, I didn't backup my scripts and styles so the only one I have installed is Firefox Addonbar in a corner.

No problems so far and FF runs faster as well...should probably clear profile every 2-4 months... (:

I can't replicate your problem. Do you mean that you selected everything in [Events>Tab Opening>Open Tabs From]?

@onemen: I think he's referring to the "More" button that appears on the bar at the top of Google pages (search, mail, voice, maps, etc)

@makondo: Is this where it directs you?

For me this version has all the problems solved with the middle click button. Thanks a lot.

But .. why in the extensions list is still the version 111011a, 111012a instead?

I PMed onemen about that. Probably a simple oversight. Happens even to the best of us.

Hangs and tab locking Rated 3 out of 5 stars

by Brian H on October 11, 2011 #

I have 0.3.8.6 installed.

I had depended on TabMix for years, but then when FF 5,7, and 8 came along I began having script hangs and forever-looping almost every time I switched tabs. The usual diagnostic that popped up was "Script: chrome://tabmixplus/content/tab/tab.js:561" Sometimes FF just stopped responding, and had to be closed.
FF 8.0 seemed to reduce that quite a bit, though it gradually began coming back -- but tabs now couldn't be dragged or arranged. So I've had to disable TabMix. Very unfortunate. I miss lots of its functions.
If it's fixed, 5 stars.
Update: Installed dev version 0.3.8.7pre.110909a, and the tab locking seems fixed. Don't know if the 561 script errors will recur, will update after a while. Back up to 4 stars ...
Update 2;
Happening again:
Script: chrome://tabmixplus/content/tab/tabmix_3.xml:883
Script: chrome://tabmixplus/content/tab/tab.js:564

Back down to 3 stars.
Ugh. Whatever that was, that was much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, worse. I could barely maneuver to the Disable button to get past looping xml:864 errors.
Back down to zero stars. What a horror show!

Just retried 111011a. Not hanging at the moment. Will report back. 3 stars again.
11/10/12 - Problem much reduced, but still happens occasionally. Most recent script error: Script: chrome://tabmixplus/content/utils.js:341
3½ stars.
___
11/10/13 Is the newest build supposed to be ...12a? It still shows as ..11b
Still getting some 564 errors and (Not Responding) hangs which sometimes clear if I wait for a while. XP Pro, FF 8.0.

I'm not sure if the latest build is a new one ...12a? or not. Will check back when I have spent enough time tabbing to know if the problem recurs.

OK, so far no script hangs. A few peculiarities re opening tabs etc. Not sure quite what's going on yet.
Back to 4 stars!

****
11/10/14 -- starting to happen (564) every few minutes again. Back to 2 stars.

Just so you know, addons 'review' is just that - a review, and not a proper place for bug reporting, issues tracking, blogging. Nobody can help you there, usually. That's what this forum is for.
Plus, 99.9% of the time people forget (hint!) to go back and change their 'rating blog' to update the rating after an issue they've been having (usually with a particular version of an ext.) is solved. Blogging on AMO serves no help to those who are thinking about installing an ext. ... which is what reviews are for.
Please read the troubleshooting tips linked in my signature.

Tab Mix Plus Dev-Build 0.3.8.7pre.111011a Released (Older builds)
  • Fixed: Session manager not restoring panoramas groups.
  • Fixed: Tabmix exclude panorama data from TabmixConvertSession service.
  • Fixed: Click on links for menu in Google.com open new tab instead of the menu.
  • Fixed: In RTL language - when the tabs don't fit to the width, no scroll buttons are appear. [Firefox 5.0+]
  • Fixed: Opening new tabs from address bar not working. Fix after Bug 610203 landed.

The Panorama fix is causing a lot of errors in the TabView processing in Firefox 7, even when not restoring sessions. Mainly when restoring closed tabs. Here's the traces (I removed the session data for privacy reasons, but there were no tab groups).

You have to be careful hooking into the TabView code as it is different in different versions of Firefox. A number of functions have different parameters in Firefox 8 and up than they do in Firefox 7 and below. Also the TabView code is very tricky and does a lot of "weird" things. Hooking into it can be treacherous.

Edit:

The errors went away on a browser restart, which suggests that things are okay at start, but go bad at some point.

Good to see you here Brian :)

In order to help us find the problem you have look in our Troubleshooting.
Most of the problem can be incompatibility with other extensions or with theme if you are using multi-row.
try to identify the if the cause is other extension or theme and report back

there is a known problem with colorfulTabs that hangs Tabmix, (i'm currently working on it)
