Tab Mix Plus

Hi.

I liked the new FF8 option to load tabs on demand. Is there a way to have this with TMP?

I read the docs but I didn't see anything like that.

Greetings.
I just started using TMP today.
I would like to submit that TMP could/should definitely have a setting
to only restore tabs on demand. That option is now native to Mozilla.
I found I still have to use Session Manager because the TMP SM does not
have a restore tabs on demand setting!

I would like a tabs on demand setting as well.

I would also like to be able to set the number of sessions that TMP retains.

This is a fantastic plugin and I make sure it is installed first thing after installing FF.

TMP 0.4.0 still does not have this functionality!
Restore on demand is now native to MFF,
so it is not clear to me why TMP does not give this option!
There is the check box "Restore all tabs" under
the TMP session manager options on the RESTORE tab.
but MFF (still) immediately/automatically reloads ALL reopened tabs in a TMP restored session ...

TM+ still does not have this functionality!

AEN007 seems pretty lonely in this thread, so I'll bump it. Would be great to have such an option. Waiting patiently.

Before FF20, the work around was to load a saved session, start a private browsing session and then end it. Coming back from private browsing left the tabs 'load on demand' but now in FF20 private browsing opens a separate window. This shouldn't be too hard to implement and I hope TMP adds the feature to load a session with 'don't load tabs until selected' tabs. FF is very unhappy when I try to load a session with ~60 saved tabs if they all load at once....

Well, 682 of my tabs are held hostage until 'load on demand' is implemented. I downloaded TMP to protect against losing my session to corruption and the like, and now I can't even load the session because every tab tries to load and it just crashes.

edit: converted TMP session to Session Manager session and it seems to be fine

What's wrong with using SM? It's a much better session managing ext. which was created just for that purpose - manage sessions and has the best support out there.

As far as i know, onemen is re-writing TMP sessions manager, it involves more that just this one option. Since i don't think he can afford living on donations and has to work and, hopefully, lives his real life well, coding TMP isn't the first priority (i hope!). And we can wait or use other exts.
There's no need to bump this thread 'cause unless you know the code and can post it, it will be posted by onemen when it's ready.

Till onemen has found the time to code the new session-manager try this workaround and use the Addon Session Manager.


It works perfect with TabMix Plus together. You can use both Addons at the same time.
It also converts the saved sessions from TMP to SM.

Now you can use the great Features from TMP, save any Session with SM
and with the build in function from Firefox 21+ only the selected Tab will load at startup.

As AEN007 said above he "... still have to use Session Manager ... " and posts in the Morac' thread.
