Tab Mix Plus

since the newest update of tmp my tabs get constantly moved to the far left when their used. prior to the update i could scroll through the tabs and when i was using say an IP chat it would stay where I left it allowing me to see the tabs on either side of it. now it instantly moves to the far left. I tried seeing if it was just an issue with tab wheel scrolling but that one by itself doesn't cause the issue nor does TMP by itself cause the issue. I would be nice if I could jsut get rid of tab wheel scrolling but TMp doesn't have an option for it. for now i'll have to go back to an older version and hope that stops the issue. i added a copy of my preferences just in case I've messed something up but I don't remember touching it prior to this issue popping up.

sorry forgot that but windows 7 64 bit and firefox 10.0.1, and i'm really not sure there's a problem with the config, but somehow it just doesn't like to work with tab wheel scrolling after this last update. I have roughly 50 tabs open at a time, im sure that's probably excessive, but as an example of what it does, if put the tabs showing say 1-10 on screen and click tab 5 then do something with tab 5 say click a link, it suddenly moves left into position 1 and the first 4 tabs are now out of sight. This happens regardless of if I open a new tab at the end of the line or open the link in that tab. I really don't know what would cause the sudden conflict since nothing changed that I can tell and tab wheel scrolling only has 2 real options, which way to scroll based on the the wheel is moved and to have the tab bar loop around from one end to the other.

Did you try disabling your other exts.? It's possible one (or more) got autoupdated and that brought up a conflict. It's an odd problem though. Are you saying that clicking a link on a page moves that tab to the far left or opens that link in a new tab on the far left?
Post a list of exts. and try disabling them (Please read the troubleshooting tips linked in my signature).

It moves the currently open tab to the left, and as for opening a new tab I do want it to go to the end that parts working correctly. Its also not to instantly show that last tab except when i open bookmarks which again is intentional. But the sliding of the active tab to the left isn't and I've tried turning off all my addons and turning them on 1 at a time to see if there's something in it and no none of them cause any issue till i have TMP and tab wheel scrolling turn on at the same time. I made a quick video of what was happening. Originally I could scroll though those tabs shown and they wouldn't move at all, now they do. and when i middle click the link to open a new tab it shifts that tab to the left, hopefully the video makes more sense of what I've said.

I didn't get the video, sorry, it's too fast for my old eyes . But as onemen said, to me it looks like it works as it should - your tabs open at the far (right) end and the tabs row moves to the left to accommodate the new tab. Since it's set to focus that tab, you see the row moving to focus on the new tab. well i went back a version, 0.3.8.7 and it's doing what it should be doing. If you watch the 2 videos the first tab is kotaku on the left, in the new(0.4.0.0) version when i scroll over the kotaku tab vanishes. going back to the older version in this vid when i scroll over kotaku doesn't vanish but stays where it should.

are you sure you used the same setting with 0.3.8.7 version

from the video its look like that scrolling change tab selection , while with 0.4.0 version you set scrolling to scroll the tabbar

looking at both configs I've never turned that function on. and while looking at the 2 of them in notpad ++ with the compare plugin I can't the differences between to 2 being an issue but they are. I've attached the config file of the older ver. the 2 in front was just for saving it to the same place.

check how Firefox work for you without Tabmix

it does what It should do the tabs scroll as their supposed to. it really only causes issue when both TMP and tab wheel scrolling are turned on.

Not really, especially the second one - not at all. Maybe a zoomed slow video could help?
As i understand the focus shifts to the new tab and the tab row moves to show that tab - expected but i see many posts about it.
Anyway, i think a clean profile is in order. Create a new clean profile, install TMP, don't import but set options manually and see what happens. if it works all right, export settings and try them in the 'problematic' profile. If that doesn't work, another ext. is conflicting or something in about:config.
If i'll find time today i will try the settings in a clean profile.

I don't know, i tried the settings (2TMPpref.txt) - when new tabs open, the focused tab moves to the far left and sits there. To me, it looks like that's how it should work, no? I couldn't scroll the tabbar, had to use arrows.

OK, i get it now. The same settings from that file do work differently with TMP 0.3.8 and the latest dev (.4.0).
.4.0 - when new tabs open at the far right, the tabbar shifts (scrolls) to the left until the focused tab is the first tab on the far left. That is, all tabs on the left side have disappeared from the view and the focused tab is now the first tab, it sits there and doesn't move unless you use arrows to scroll the bar.
.3.8 - tabs on the left of the focused tab shrink but do not move off. So, if, for example, the focused tab was 4th from the left, it will still be the 4th tab from the left.
The same file is used but simply behaves differently, confirmed.

I didn't see any difference.
Maybe someone else can try or i can try again later today when i have more time (the default settings and/or Fx w/out TMP are too confusing for me ).

I tried again and i don't see any difference - that is, when tabs to the left of the focused tab close, the focused tab shifts to the left until it's the first tab, then it just stays there, which - i would imagine - is how it's suppose to work.
For some reason, it doesn't work like that in .4.0 version with the settings from chaoticevl file. It does in .3.8 but not in .4.0. That same file in 4.0 - the focused tab scrolls to the left as the tabs on its left disappear and then it too disappears off the tabbar when it reaches the left side.
