Tab Mix Plus

Guys, first, thanks a lot for a great add on and yes, I DID send a contribution and
those who haven't, shame on you.

Now, for my question. I always have lots of tabs open and when closing
firefox or even when it crashes and opens up again, I get my tabs back,
no problem. HOWEVER, if I for some reason I have ANOTHER firefox window
open (not the main one with all the tabs) and I happen to close THAT one
AFTER the main window, when I restart firefox, that's the one that comes
up and I may or may not be able to get my other tabs back up.

Suggestions please?

Also, if I have lots of tabs and don't want them all to LOAD when firefox
first starts as I sometimes have bad download speeds, is there a way
to STOP loading all of the tabs and manually just load the ones I want?

What's your Fx version? Check Fx Options/General > Don't load tabs until selected.
As for sessions, sorry, i don't use TMP session manager.
But from what i see in Help, can't you restore closed windows from the closed tabs button menu? Check stuff in Restore and Preserve tabs.

Fx Options/General tab, at the very top. I'm not sure Fx 7 has it though. Might have come in later versions:

Don't have it, what version do you have and is it stable? I'll download it right now
if it is...

I use betas, you don't need it just for this purpose. I think it's in the latest official release anyway, which is 11. If you'd check your browser for updates, it should show you an update available.

It shows my firefox is updated. I'll download 11 anyway and see what it does.

Well, got'er did and it's working fine.

Now, on to the next question about the tabs when closing TWO windows and getting
them all back...

onemen should be able to help with that one but, as i said, did you check settings under Sessions/Restor and Preserve tabs? Something there should be useful to you. For instance, you can merge windows or see the closed windows in the closed tabs menu and reopen them. Or something like that.

Not sure I have but I also updated my tmp too so maybe things have changed in my favor. I'll track him down and ask him

Worked great though. The new version of everything merges the NEW window with the original window so ALL my tabs are intact.

just be aware that Don't load tabs until selected is not in use (in current Tabmix version) when using Tabmix session manager.

Ok, you lost me there admin....Should I check it or not and if I check it, will it be working or not?

when you un-check Use Firefox's® built-in Session Restore Feature then you are using Tabmix's session manager.
in that case "Don't load tabs until selected" have no effect.

by the way, if all you need is your tabs and windows from last session, you can use Firefox's® built-in Session Restore.
for the case you need to open closed window go to History menu Recently closed windows

I like tabmix because it lets me have many rows of tabs but for some reason, I had to scroll up and down through the rows
lately instead of seeing all the rows of tabs at the same time.
I upgraded and that seemed to fix it but my other problem was this:

So, I tested and with THIS setting with that box checked, it does ALL
I want it to do although I'm not sure if it's firefox or tmp that does it
but I'm happy.
Whether I understand WHY it works is however a different matter...

So, should I just continue or my marry way and return when there is a
problem or try to understand what you just said above. Again, this IS
a problem for me.

as long as you happy with the result stick to your current settings
