Tab Mix Plus

I am having trouble with Tab Mix Plus and FireFox 12

I have your program setup to **always** open a tab, but even if I protect, lock and freeze a tab, that tab will change if I click on a link to open another tab. The new tab never opens up

In FireFox 10 it works perfectly. All I did was upgrade to FireFox 12, and I saw this behavior. Did not change a thing in your programs's settings

I talked to FireFox support who has given up on this isue--canot duplicate it

Check your settings again - maybe something got re-set on upgrade.
Install the latest dev. build (link in my signature).
If none of this helps, read the troubleshooting tips linked in my signature and try a clean profile.



You also need to check your settings in Events/Tab opening > Open tabs from ...

I installed Dev build, and checked/unchecked some config options (but changed nothing in the end), and the problem cleared up.

So, not sure what fixed it

Good to hear. Must've been some upgade glitch, happens. Sometimes a couple of restarts and clearing cache helps.
When quoting posts, please, don't quote images. I delete it.

Please, don't spread nonsense. You can clearly see in my shot settings for opening links in new tabs. 'Force to open.. > All links' is one of those.

I am still having problems

It seems to be intermittent

Open Marketwatch.com
only tab open
lock,protect, freeze
TMP set to always open new tabs
click on any link
the marketwtch tab CHANGES

Earlier today it was working fine -- a new tab always opened up

I just opened a couple dozen tabs from there:


I don't lock/protect/etc. tabs. I simply open everything in new tabs.

Again, I never had a single issue when I was in 10.0.

This all started when I upgraded to 12

Strange, i tried your settings and it opens links in the same tab. I checked your settings and don't see there anything that would cost this. Might have to wait for onemen to see what's going on, probably sometime next week.

Well, this is too troublesome for me

I am going back to 10.0.2 of Firefox--never had a single issue there

This all started in 12.0

And it is intermittent on top of that. All this morning it was working fine, until suddenly it arose

FireFox tech support gave up on me

Also, don't know if this matters

Running Win XP pro, Service Pak2

I am back to Fire Fox 10, and even loaded the TMP setting I sent you, just to be sure I am using the same thing

Correct me if I am wrong, but regardless of what the open new tab settings are, if you FREEZE, LOCK, PROTECT a tab, you are **ALWAYS** going to open a new tab, right???

If so, well my pic shows you I froze, loked, protected, and still the tab changed

Everything working perfectly even WITHOUT freeze, lock, protect, etc. under 10.0.2 using your 0.4.0.1

You need to calm down. Instead of 5 posts w/in a minute, you can just edit the last one to add whatever it is you want to say

As i already said, i don't have any problems with my settings but i see the same as what you describe with your settings. I'm not a developer, just a member here like any other but unlike any other, trying to help whenever i can. So, i tested your settings and can confirm your problem. As i said above, the developer - onemen - is on vacation and you will have to wait til next week (maybe) for him to see this thread and try to figure it out. It's probably as simple as a combination of your settings because, i repeat, i don't see this with my settings.

OK. I thought you could not confirm my problem--just admitted to it.

Firefox tech support was addament to say it had NOTHING to do with their upgrade. It wold be interesting if when you could confirm my problem in Firefox 12, you try it on a system with Firefox10 and see if the problem goes away. Makes me wonder if Firefox **did** change something in theri tab behavior that effected TMP

I would still like you to answer my question, just for my TMP understanding of freeze, lock, protect. if all these are set, you got to have a new tab show up no matter what, correct?

Just Lock should do it but with your settings it does not.
I don't think it has to do with Fx, i do think it's a combination of your settings which i can't detect (sorry, i have a very limited time for this sort of things, if i'll find more time, i might test settings again). Remember, it all works perfectly fine for me with my settings in the working and clean+TMP profiles ( versions data is in my sig) and the problem occurs with your settings in my working and clean+TMP profiles.

Then why is there NO problem in Firefox 10???
