Its boring, when opening a new tab for an update, is thanked for the use! :evil:
http://tmp.garyr.net/version_update.htm
If you want to fix this open the *.xpi with an Unpacker, go to Subfolder "content", open the File tab.js with an Editor and change Line 1886
b.selectedTab = b.addTab("http://tmp.garyr.net/version_update.htm");
in
// b.selectedTab = b.addTab("http://tmp.garyr.net/version_update.htm");
than save the File tab.js and repack the*.xpi. Done!
Its will be nice, when this Line would be delete in the next nightlys, otherwise you must make this fix after the next Update again.
It works in Firefox 7.0.1 - 10 nightly. Without any Warranty and at your own risk.

This confirmation pages are used to estimate (count) ext. users. Many exts. do it. Takes 2secs to close the tab. And yes, it's annoying.
Since i already donated, i hide the confirmation box with this style (an empty tab still opens, of course):

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document url("http://tmp.garyr.net/version_update.htm") {

#content
{ display: none !important; } }

it's really annoying. A lot of Add-ons opens this kind of confirmation pages.
Some of them offers the possibility to hide this with a key in about:config:

I tried this keys in about:config as boolean:
tabmix.firstRunRedirection set to false
extensions.tabmix.firstRunRedirection set to false
but this not works.

I hope onemen will implement a possibility like this above mentioned.
That would be wonderful.

Cheers
Endor

i don't understand why you waste your time on this.
Firefox also have new tab open for every new version.

You will only see this page after Tabmix was updated
dev-build users will see this more often but it is impotent to notify dev-build users about an update

i can change the title to
Tab Mix Plus Installed

Makondo, do you have better offer for the title ?

No, i don't think it needs another title. Their problem is not the title but the fact that this tab opens in the first place. I, on the other hand, while finding it annoying, don't mind 'cause i understand the reason behind it. However .... if there would be a 'hidden' option you could send me in a PM ..... Image

BTW, what do you mean by 'it is important to notify dev.build users about an update'. It doesn't notify, as far as i know, it simply confirms that i installed it. No?

next version title will be
Tab Mix Plus - Version 0.3.8.7pre111025 Installed

version number will reflect the real version number.

you can test it by trying this http://tmp.garyr.net/version_update.htm?version=0.3.8.7

You may be surprise to know how many people do read it (there's a changelog info there, you know) and how many people do not (but should!) - only to come here with a questions/report 'bugs' that have been mentioned on that page.

However, an option not to show it again would be nice. Like Morac did (see SM options under advanced tab):
