Where is the history information stored?

I want to restore a session that (for some unknown reason) wasn't saved from yesterday.

Thanks! Is there a way to view the *.rdf files? I want to ensure which one I open is correct.

Any text reader should do, Notepad++ for instance.

Are you on windows? I use 7zip for files.
Rclick/Edit > my 7zip edit option opens Notepad++ and i can easily read session.rdf
