What version of Fx are you using? Notice: it's Firefox option, not TMP:

Ahh--that would explain it! :D

Having said that that option is not under Tabs in Mac Fx but rather General, the first tab on the left under Preferences.

On Fx 14 Windows, too. But it will be moved to Tab preference on Fx 15

Does this option "Don't load tabs until selected" really works for you?

I've this box checked but all the tabs are loads at start of FF.

No. It doesn't work for me either.
I have the box checked, yet all the tabs are loaded on startup.

I spoke about this problem into this thread too: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16564

So the problem should be the session manager of TMP, then you've the choice to wait the new version or to switch to another session manager like "Session manager ext" which is compatible with TMP.

Actually I'm using "Session manager ext" and the tabs are not loaded until I click on them.

Before finding this thread I just posted a similar question in the FF Forum:

But I now see that it could be down to TMP, although I don't really follow how that arises.

After selecting any unopened tab it doesn't reload. I have to do so manually. I have FF set as shown here:
Image

I use FF's own TabGroups Manager on FF 15.01, with latest TMP and TMP's Session Manager (as a series of recent FF crashes made it clear how important it was to save sessions when troubleshooting.)

Edit:
I just switched to FF's own session manager and confirm that does fix the problem.

However I don't immediately see why that has also changed the format of unselected tabs:
With TMP's session manager: (The format I prefer.)

With FF's session manager:

This post might be better in Yokav's more recent thread,

If so, maybe makondo can move it please?

It's fine here, Terry. We have this issue in a few threads already.
onemen must be busy working on the new session manager. Will have to wait and see if it will solve the problem.

In your post above, are you talking about the looks of tabs? You can set it to be whatever color with whatever font color and set bold/italic as well. All under Display/Tab > Customize... I believe those are 'Other tabs' on your pic above.

Thanks makondo. Yes, the appearance. I'll take a harder look later this evening at the exact settings. But I don't see why merely switching off TMP's own session manager, and doing nothing else to TMP settings, changes the tab appearance so much!

Sorted the appearance issue now thanks. I'd assumed that while tabs were being loaded their status was Unloaded, but actually it's treated as Unread immediately.

BTW, the Help doesn't yet include the Unloaded option.
