I have both tab mix plus and tree style tabs extensions installed. Recently I've been experiencing a problem that when I click on a link with target="_blank" two tabs open instead of one. they both point to the same url (everything else works fine) I'm not sure who's fault it is but and I haven't found a way to contact the developers of tree style tab yet. both extensions offer the option of opening in a new tab instead of a new window.

when I set both of them to open a new windows only one window shows up but also a new tab gets opened as well. When I disable one or the other I have no problems and it opens in a new tab or in a new window depending on what I set it to.

would you be able to stop this from occurring or is it a bug with tree style tabs extension?

OS: windows 7 RC
Firefox: 3.0.10

Its till the same in the latest dev build which I just installed. I'm goning to try a fresh firefox portable with both extensions and see if I get the same result.

Edit: I've installed Firefox portable 3.0.10 and I can't manage to recreate the error.

Edit2:
I was comparing all the options of tree style tab with the default ones in my fresh Firefox portable and I managed to fix it. I believe ther is a bug in one of the extensions but since this option doesn't appear to affect anything major the bug is not important. If you would like to recreate it from a fresh version of Firefox install Tab Mix Plus and Tree style tabs. In the Tree style tabs options Tab Operations -> Open tabs contextually -> Open links to different websites in new tab(enable). now you have to click on an targe="_blank" link that leads to another website.

I'm seeing an issue with TMP and Tree Style Tab where tabs opened are not opened adjacent to the current tab, but rather 2 tabs below the current tab.

Tab 1
Tab 2 << active
Tab 3
Tab 4

If you open a link from Tab 2, I expect it to be Tab 2.1, so it's between Tab 2 and 3, but instead, I'm seeing this.

Tab 1
Tab 2 << active
Tab 3
Tab 2.1 << new tab
Tab 4

A second link opened from Tab 2 is also appearing between Tabs 3 and 4, as follows:

Tab 1
Tab 2 << active
Tab 3
Tab 2.1
Tab 2.2 << new tab
Tab 4

Firefox 3.5RC2
Tree Style Tab 0.7.2009051501
Tab Mix Plus 0.3.7.4pre.095016

If I disable TMP, tabs open in the proper locations.
If I disable TST, tabs open in the proper locations.
It's only when both are active I'm seeing this problem with tabs not opening in the proper location.

Hi!
I'm using Tree Style Tab for some days since I switched to FF3.5 and TMP wasn't working. Now I'm using a pre-version of TMP and TreeStyleTab, but the behaviour is just like described above.

Opening a link in another tab displays the tab two rows below:
Tab 1
Tab 2 << active
Tab 3
Tab 2.1 << new tab
Tab 4

But: if you open another tab from tab 2, it looks like this:
Tab 1
Tab 2 << active
Tab 3
Tab 2.1 << new tab
Tab 4
Tab 2.2 << new tab

When I'm moving tab 2 to the end of tab list, it's ok again:
Tab 1
Tab 3
Tab 4
Tab 2 << active
Tab 2.1 << new tab
Tab 2.2 << new tab

The same goes for closing the tree. It's working fine internally, but displaying of the tabs is broken. I couldn't find an option in TMP nor in TreeStyleTab to fix this.

Stats: TMP 0.3.7.4pre090516, TST 0.7.2009051501, FF3.5, Windows7RC1 (64bit)

(BTW: would be nice if TMP could support Tab Kit because it supports nice tab group coloring.)

I'm having the same problems after upgrading to 3.5. I'd waited for most of my extensions to release a FF3.5 first.

When TMP is turned off, TST will open child tabs normally. New tabs appear at the bottom of the list.

When TST is turned off, TMP will open new tabs next to the current tab.

When both on, it follows rc-flitzer's description above.

This leads me to suspect that TMP's interaction with FF3.5 changed adjacent tab opening. TMP probably sets new opening location to be [oldtab position] + 1, and this is being applied before TST moves the tab beneath its parent, every time a new (child) tab is opened.

Same versions as rc-flitzer, but on Vista 32-bit.

Oh, I forgot to mention a temporary fix that doesn't involve completely disabling TMP:

Just disable the "Open new tabs next to current one" feature.

Your new blank tabs will start at the bottom, but for TST users, child tabs will essentially still be "adjacent" to its parent.

Thanks, that's a nice tip that should be posted in the designated dev.build sticky thread linked in my signature ... if it wasn't already.

Thank you! I'm having the above mentioned trouble with FF 3.5.1, Tab Mix Plus dev build and Tree Style Tab, and this workaround fixed it beautifully.

I use as well "Tree Style Tab" and "TMP".
My tabs are vertical left.

If I open a new tab, new tab open on bottom.
How I can change that new tab open on top?
Thank you in advance for any help.

with TMP 0.3.8.3 and TST I could not drag tabs to a new position, but TMP dev build 0606a fixes the problem. Thanks!

I had the same problem and fixed it with the same solution, although I used build 0609a instead of 0606a.

I am using TST 0.10.2010051201 and TMP 0.3.8.5 pre100617a - Win7 untimate 64 bit 2.4ghz quad 8gb

and the child tabs arent working properly - they will open correctly but I dont get them indented like they should be - if I disable TMP then it works fine but I need TMP because it is the only way to get the tabs to open correctly (all links from other sites open in a new tab, this works for some tabs but not all unless I have TMP)

everything worked fine until 5 days ago when it updated and I have problems now - so I will try to see if I can just install the old versions and see whats what then

any help would be great

New TabMix DEV-Version didn't solve problem.
Did other members have same issue?
Or I need to configure TaxMixPlus?
Namaste
